The James Madison University literary arts magazine Gardy Loo is out! It is a magazine published by students and comprised of student art and writing. I have work on pages 16 and 17. It's a unique magazine in that it is solely for students and by students. If you are a JMU student and see them being handed out on the commons, pick one up!
My painting has been chosen to be in the 40 Under 40 show at the Shenandoah Valley Art Center in Waynesboro, Virginia. The show features 40 Virginia artists under the age of 40. I am featured in the newsletter- check out the upper right hand corner! Mark your calendars for March 7th at 5pm for the opening reception.
I did this painting a few months ago as part of an open assignment in my painting class. It was done completely with a palette knife technique, no brushes were involved. The process was very free and experimental. I enjoyed the lack of a regimented process and hope to explore it further in the future.
This is the place where I post current works, upcoming shows, inspirations, and general thoughts about art.
